Little did I know, when writing my second-last post (see below), that it would be my second-last post. D'oh.
So, it's goodbye to Blogspot, as Sudeep has finally convinced me to switch to Tumblr. It's very sad, really. Anyway: my new address will be:
www.theycalledmesomething.tumblr.com
Sounds familiar, right?
Well, thanks for all the support you, my loyal readers, have given me over the months. Do come along to my new blog, tag, and keep updated!

Toy Story 3.
First, I just want to say that this is my first perfectly rational blog post title in a loooooong time.
Just got back from watching Toy Story 3, and it was a great movie. Mind you, I've seen worse villains in live-action films. Thinking of a pink, strawberry-flavoured totalitarian fucking regime scares the crap out of me.
Although I wish that (WARNING SPOILER ALERT)
Woody could have stayed with Andy at the end, which would have (in my mind) would have made for a more poignant farewell scene, but I guess that would have not meshed up with the movie's Aesop. Huh. I do wish, however, that they could have focused more the theme of letting go of one's loved ones more, which was only touched on lightly, as compared to the other themes.
Oh, and the escape was cool as hell. Can't deny that, and it is very reminiscent of the plans that Woody made in the previous movies. I do wish they'd made a longer fight sequence between him and the monkey, though.
Hmmm. Now I have a sudden urge to go back and watch the original two movies again...

Ups And Downs.
Okay, first I want to state how pleased I was that I was proven wrong about my World Cup statements below. Argentina's 4-1 victory over Korea had over TRIPLE the goals of the then-average goals per game of 1.56(!). Hopefully this is a sign that things are turning for the better.
Not that the match was perfect, though, although I'm not talking about the game itself. It was the goddamn commentator. He already admitted that "These names tend to roll off the tongue," and he still continued to mangle the language in the most horrendous way possible. I mean, jeez, dude, it's Ma-scher-ah-noe, not Mah-scher-AAAH-NOOE. Ee-guain, not Ih-guai-NUH. It's Argentina, not Italy, dammit.
Say it with me, c'mon:
Ma-scher-ah-noe.
Ee-guain.
There, isn't that much more civilized?

Commentaries.
As I write this, I am sitting on the second step of the Venture Chalet 2010 staircase, patiently explaining to Ming Lun how you can trade in a set of three Risk cards for seven troops, provided they are of different types. Go, Ming Lun! Lionel is at the far corner of the rectangular table to my left playing Counter-Strike, and Brandon is slightly to his right singing korean karaoke. Boon King has just asked me what I was doing, and facepalmed at the answer.
Before you ask, I have no idea whether this is a common occurrence, since this is only the first night (well, first morning, to be precise, but whatever), not counting the previous one last year, where we were spamming Halo 2 like 9-year old Korean kids on caffeine. So yeah, it doesn't really count.
Pretty much screwed for Metacognition, which is due on Friday, since of the lack of free time I've already mentioned. As for Yi Ming, likewise. Ah well. Nothing we can do about it here, I suppose.
Now to decide whether I should go to sleep or not. Hmph. I might do so inevitably, but there's no point in wasting a couple of good hours of playing cards , or alternatively DotA...

Return of the Kink.
Firstly: I make no apologies for the terrible movie pun up there. Any complaints that you want to make can be addressed to my now-defunct tagboard, which I may not or may not answer. Yes, you got that right.
Anyway; yes, Edmund is back from boarding, albeit belatedly. Past few days have not been very internet-connection-filled, either, what with Venture Camp and all (which I'll get to in a while).
My holiday schedule is up the wazoo, with the aforementioned Venture Camp from the 31st-2nd, CampoRama (is that you you spell it?) from the 4th-6th, Chalet from the 8th-10th, and my famliy vacation from the 12th-15th. And after that is the World Cup, and the due date for my English Portfolio. OH SHI-
Anyway, gotta dash to school to check on Hawk Patrol 9and my icebox), so I'll be back to talk about Boarding and VC later.
Catch y'all.

Pain.
Ow.
No, dude, seriously. Ow.
...
Okay, for the sake of clarity, I'll explain. You know the boarding doors, right? You know how they are really frikkin' heavy? And you know how easy it is to put your finger in the gap between the hinge and the frame?
Yeah. As I said: ow. I am currently typing this post with my left hand and my right thumb and fourth finger, as my middle finger has been incapacitated. Great word. Amd i think the internal bleeding is beginning to clot. Darn.
Timing really couldn't have been better, since never before has an occasion come up where I needed so much use of my hands. Head of Decor, dammit.
Okay, I'll admit that part of the sarcasm failure in the previous paragraph was due to me not being articulate my thoughts coherently over the keyboard, since... you know...

The Problem with Ellipses.
So, bonus for the previous RLP people who might happen to read this blog:
MBTI was today. Ended about 40 minutes ago, in fact, with most of the intermediate time spent running around the block trying to find an open door after we realized that we spent too long talking to Mr Paul Lim after the session itself. It's complicated, okay?
So, the moment you've all been waiting for... The chance to see whether your one and only beloved Mr. Kink is the personality type you think him to be... The opportunity to bang your table and shout "Ha! I KNEW it!" or facepalm and mutter something about apples...
The person currently sitting at his boarding room table, typing on a Mac, using boarding internet, listening to ...interesting... music, and looking at this sentence to see what else he can add to it (in other words, me), is...
an INTP.
Yes. I can hear the "WHAT?!"s from over here, even with FF13 music blasting in the background. Let me reasure you: this is only my Reported score. My Self-Estimated score is an ENFJ. Now, before you start nodding knowingly to yourself, let me say this: if Paul Lim would let me, I would put most (or all) of those scores in the Neutral category, for reasons I care not to explain.
Yes, Mister Kink is a very conflicted person, even if he doesn't look it most of the time.
Okay then. Gotta wrap up before the internet clogs up again and starts... Oh god.
'Could not contact Blogger.com. Saving and publishing may fail. Retrying...'
Well, crap. But maybe the very fact that you're reading this proves that I managed to get through, eh? How's that for a self-fulfilling prophecy?

Innabox.
Oh gawd. It's been so long since I posted. Damned boarding internet screwing up everything. At least it'll be fixed in only another three weeks, eh?
Lots of stuff happened. Like moar pizzamaking on Thursday, where we were folding pizza boxes for hours. Pretty fun, though, especially the parts where I was on the ladder. Epic balancing.
And then, after having pizza for lunch over there, I went back and had pizza for dinner with Jian Hao, Wen Hao, Xi Rui, and Shrey. Outside Common Room 1. Was pretty cool, especially since I had that discount coupon. Which they didn't even take... -.-
Huh. Need to find a way to install dwarf fortress on a mac. That would be so awesome.
Speaking of which: STEAM FOR MAC HAS BEEN RELEASED!!! ALONG WITH PORTAL 2!!!! AARG!
Heh heh. Anyway, need to dash. Boon King and Lu Chen, if you're reading this and haven't already done so, send me your logistics and design plans for Annual Show costumes ASAP. By tomorrow, if possible.

Ye Gods! An Armory!
...above title shamelessly stolen from my MSN personal message. Well, perhaps 'stolen' isn't the right word...
But seriously. I highly doubt my ability to get through RLP3's check in with all the weaponry I plan to bring in. A foam Sir Aldric axe, a foam skeleton shield, a freaking Nerf Rifle, the contents of my worksheet file...
What *is* the penalty for weapons smuggling in Singapore, does anyone know?
Eh. On to other matters. Probably won't be talking about Jobweek: too painful and too short. On the other hand, I have had an excellent idea int he last 24 hours:
1. Collect all the awesome words that I've used in this blog.
2. Wait till end of year.
3. Make them into a short story.
4. ???
5. Profit!
So... does that mean I can skip the Commonwealth Essay which I haven't even touched, let alone read?
...nah.

Night To Remember.
From this day, I resolve to pay more attention to the background music whenever I watch a movie. Browsing through my iTunes library, I'm slowly realizing what I missed the first time round. Gems like 'Up is Down' from At World's End and 'Forest Battle' from Revenge of the Fallen, as well as 'Hedwig's Theme' from.. well, you know...
(Sorry for lack of youtube links; I can't really be bothered at this time...)
Anyway, back to what I originally wanted to post a few days ago. Re: RJ Dramafeste and Jobweek.
Dramafeste was pretty cool. Bayleywaddle's (The Road Last Travelled) was nice and kinda funny, which was about a screwed up family on some fail road trip. Introduced to the world the meme of CAMELNUTS! Hadleyhullett's (no name, making it kinda unique) was awesome as heck. About a family with a dead daughter (who's some kind of ghost) and their screwups. Really really cool, and it produced Best Script and Direction, I think. Not to mention Judges' Award, for the crazy genderbent maid (a MALE called Siti? Crazy awesome!) who was easily the funniest person of the night.
Bucklebuckley's (Desperate Housewife, oh such creativity) was okay, and was about (surprise) another screwed up family and its matriarch. Hella lot of flashbacks, and produced the other Judges' Award for the father for really awesome moodswitching between enthu and foam. Unfortunately, they ran out of time, so it was kind of truncated. Sad. I would have liked to see where all the angst was going.
Morrisonrichardson's (Love is the Law) was, quite honestly, pathetic. Was some musical about homosexuality, and it might have had a chance to be salvaged if all the characters' voices hadn't been, y'know, flat. They were singing, you know, which makes it much, much worse.
On the other hand, the last one, Moortarbet (How to Get Out of Detention) was ridiculously over-the-top and epic. And it was glorious. About a detention class where the way to leave it to write a good poem and present it to the teacher. There's a enthu mugger, a suckup, a stoner, a model student, and a poser pimp daddy. Needless to say, hilarity ensues. Won best play and Best Actress in the teacher. As I said: glorious.
So MT's first, and HH's second. Other than that, not really sure.
Heh. This post is ong enough, I reckon. Might post about Jobweek later.

Too tired to post now. Had RJ Dramafeste, then Jobweek. See y'all around when I can muster the energy to type more than three sentences.

Hey, Let's Pause For A While, Yeah?
I am feeling horribly, horribly conflicted right now.
So my father came back from Taiwan today, and he got me a army-camo-coloured beret from there. Yes, the French type.
You see the obvious problem.
Army=/=France. Yeah.
Anyway, in other news, "You can't make it for what we are going to do, so you don't deserve to walk with us." Discuss.

Alea Jecta Es... Oh, Never Mind.
So we got the news from Hiok today: the Ventures "have a high probability of all passing First Class. Except one. Or two."
Awesome, but those last four words worry me a lot. Ah well. At least it's a start, right? Because apparently the Sec 3s did a lot worse than us, so by right...
Hmph. Lionel got rejected from RLP, for the third time. Tragic as heck, seeing as there are only three sessions. i don't know whether it's Paul Lim having something on him personally, but he doesn't deserve this, I think. And I'm not saying this just because he's Malaysian.
On the other hand, I DID get into RLP 3, which is good and bad news. Bad news being that I'm with many people with questionable states of mind, such as Jian Hao, Yi Hua, Yang, Sherman, Tony, two assorted Kevins... and Edmund. No offence to all named.
Good news, on the other hand, being that this will really allow me to increase my productivity. My work efficiency at home is as low as heck, seeing that I spend all my time in the internet, blogging and reading webcomics, rather that studying. Cough.
I do hope they will allow my axe and shield, though. I think it'd look great hung up on my wall, like some heraldry. Would be the darnedest thing I ever saw, I'll say that. I just need something else to complete the set. Maybe that skeleton sword that Jian Hao was showing me the other day, hmm?

OM NOM NOM NOM
Pizza making's in 7 hours. Ho hum. Nothing to do until then except church, blog, send long-overdue emails about various topics, eat pineapple tarts...
(In case you didn't know, pineapple tarts are my favorite type of pastry. I can probably eat more than any two people combined. Well, maybe not Lesmana.)
There was something on a more serious note that I wanted to blog about a day or so ago, but never got the chance to. Started with 'F' or 'G'. Hmph. Will let you all know when the idea respawns.
Speaking of respawns...
Guan Hao asked me (for the 4th time, I think) to join League of Legends. He's apparently the top ranked Singapore player. I'm still considering, but with the multitude of good games coming out this year (or at least this quarter - do I need to list them?), I may not have the time.
Still something to keep in mind, though.
Aah. Just remembered something else I wanted to say. Updating my long-un-updated sidebar. And putting in a list of cool words that I've listed on this blog. 'Multitude' being one of them as well.
Kink, signing out.

Go On. Starts With 'R', Ends With 'ambling'.
It's been to long since my last post. Don't know why, but it could have something to do with this damn bandage on my right elbow. Screwing up me typing. Heh.
Lots of stuff to talk about, now...
First Class. A bit (ok, who am I kidding, very) screwed up. Speed was good, and a lot more talking cock, though. That was a surprise, and a pleasant one, at that. It's cool when you actually have the ability to conduct a proper conversation with someone without one party dying for lack of breath. For once. Let's see, what did I talk about... to Yang about sci-fi crossovers (namely, Imperium of Man versus Galactic Empire -- WHO WOULD WIN?), to Yen Ter about sci-fi games (Mass Effect 2. Fun as hell, and a really great universe -- I want to steal some ideas for my own fantasy world), and to Boon King about... his hand injury. Huh. Two out of three ain't bad, to use that term.
Which brings me to my latest bit of irony, and proof that Murphy really exists in this world: my aforementioned elbow injury. Hideously (another awesome word) ironic that I am forced to be absent from school the day after I claim on my MSN that I might not be able to, but for all the wrong reasons. I had a cold, and it got better by the morning, but then I had to go and slip on the toilet mat and crack my elbow on the stone. Nasty. Not to mention painful.
Did I mention ironic?
Oh, and on to music, which I've been meaning to talk about for the longest time.
FFXIII OST is pretty cool. An 85-track album, at least some of it's gotta be. But the thing I like most is that Masashi Hamauzu actually sets the main battle theme as a violin solo. Epic.
Gears of War 2. Composed of Steve Jablonsky (of Transformers OST fame - Listen to it. NOW.) Pretty decent stuff (the character themes are especially sweet), and "Heroic Assault" is beyond awesome. They actually have a shortened version of the song with a much more badass name - called "Armored Prayer". Check 'em out.
Huh. That's it for now. Will keep you all updated on Mass Effect 2 status.
Kink out.

More Ramblings.
At the risk of sounding like a total loser and a mangler of the English language...
Today was also fun.
No, don't kill me, please.
Firstly, today I went to Yen Ter's house at 7am (!) to play Mass Effect 2. And to transfer movies. I passed him 6 movies and he passed me ME2, so I should think that's a fair deal.
Then was Moor House Drama Feste meeting. You understand that I have to keep it hush-hush, since, you know, it's top-secret and all.
After that was rations buying. Very epic, since I was the only one from my patrol, so I had to solo the whole lump of rations from NTUC all the way home.
It's good that we only managed to spend less than $40, though. I was expecting a lot more. Well, admittedly that was because I chopped down our rations to about two-thirds of what it was, but nutritional value is still good. Or adequate, at the very least.
I'm now attempting to install ME2 on my com. Hopefully it doesn't screw up like Dragon Age did on Rui Liang's and Yen Ter's coms... I'll keep you updated.
Oh, and by the way...
AARGH! All the stuff I have to do by tomorrow!
1. English social issues speech
2. SS essay
3. History essay
4. Update rations list
Ummm... that's about it, I hope.
I hope.
I hope.

Ramblings.
Today was fun.
Wow. You know I've sunk to such a level when I have to start a blog post with such a stupid and mundane sentence as that. Whatever. At least while writing THIS sentence, I've thought of some things to write about. What irony.
First. I saw Ryan and Richmond today after act, and me and Yang spent ~20 minutes (!) swapping war (read: CCA) stories with them. Very interesting.
Oh, and I was telling Jason and Lu Chen horror stories about Dwarf Fortress on the way to the J8 bus stop. Well, they were laughing, so I guess 'horror' isn't the best word...
(By the way, Lu, I TOLD you to remind me to give you your cert. Fail.)
BTW, Dragon Age playthrough 2's at the final battle, so I'll be starting the 3rd run soon, complete with blog annotations. And screenshots. How exciting!
That goes double for other potential players, however. Yen Ter, Yi Hua, I'm looking at you.
On a side note, PirateBay is down. Damn.
Gah. Must remember to print rations list for me and Boon King to buy tomorrow. And to call Yen Ter to ask what movies he wants. Lots of stuff to do before First Class.
Lucky there's STD tomorrow, huh?

RECORD!
Today, Mister Kink is a very happy man.
Boy. Guy. Whatever.
Anyway, what I was going to say was this:
HAHAA! I have a new personal best timing for showering!
Yes, you heard that right! 4.50 for me to take a complete shower (yes, with soap and all, you disgusting little bugger), towel myself dry, and change into clean clothes! That's 4 seconds faster than my previous timing!
That'll be 4.54, for those who can't be bothered to count. Pure win. And my next target is 4.45. I'll keep you updated, don't worry.
Now, on to other news...
I need a freaking to-do list. In this blog, if possible, so I can be reminded of what I do whenever I post. Cunning, eh?
Oh, and if anyone's interested, I am setting up a Dwarf Fortress succession game. Contact me for more details, of you're interested. Stay tuned for updates!

So, How Rich Are YOUR Relatives?
Chinese New Year is coming. As of the time I write this: In 3.20 hours. Unless you take the China time as the 'official' start, though. Pity we can't stay up and do all that stuff we do for the normal new year, huh?
For all you non-Chinese out there: Enjoy your holiday! Read that book that you've always wanted to read, go out and really LAN without having to worry about tomorrow's homework, enjoy life!
For the rest, I have only one sentence of advice: Tomorrow, go out there, and make some money.
Happy Hunting.

The Update.
So I got gibbed today by Mr. Yuen.
Well, not literally, of course, but when he was sitting there shouting at me I felt like there was a hole in my chest that was spewing out improbable amounts of blood, as well as some fragments of internal organs. Morbid.
'twas an interesting sight to imagine, though; I've never tried to picture a hole in my chest before. And I guess my imagination is much more vivid than Yiming's; he called it 'getting my throat slit'. Goes to show, huh?
Yeah, So We're going to reboot the whole specs collection thing. Hope we can get it right this time.
Anyway, on to more trivial matters. My dog ran through my house the other night and made off with 10 pineapple tarts, the little bastard. Freaking kill-stealer, and the worst part is that I can't steal HIS food in return. Why, the cunning little...
And then there are the two ongoing things I want to work on with this blog. One: a Wheel of Time walkthrough (gasp!). Yeah, I'm going to be commenting on The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, as I read through it for the second time. Expect Snark. With a capital S.
Second is a Dragon Age: Origins playthrough. Can't say much about this, since I haven't finished my second one yet, but Once I finish this one, rest assured i will be trying it again, on Nightmare difficulty. Heh heh heh.
